Knowledge network NWGDDutch Working Group on Drying Drying is one of the most common industrial processes. If products need to be dried in your company, you will need to choose one of the many different drying techniques, as well as select drying equipment. Mirroring the vast variety of products to be dried, is a great diversity of dryers. Often used are hot air (bulk drying, thermal drying) and contact (surface drying, mechanical drying) processes, for which a lot of experience is available. Then there are the new alternative drying techniques, such as dielectric drying. Only limited experience is available for these, and their suitability and drying results are generally not known in advance. Interest in industrial drying has clearly increased lately, in view of the soaring costs of energy and the increasingly strict standards of quality demanded by clients.
This site is intended for anyone who is professionally involved in industrial drying and is available in Dutch only. The site is produced in co-operation between SenterNovem and the Dutch Working Group on Drying (NWGD).
