Sustainable Electricity Supply Platform
The Sustainable Electricity Supply Platform distinguishes four complementary main routes to make the electricity supply in the Netherlands sustainable:
- Increasing the share of renewable energy sources
- Improving the sustainability of traditional electricity production (e.g. through CO2 storage and cogeneration)
- Modifying the electrical infrastructure
- Achieving electricity savings.
The Platform is developing transition paths for each of these main routes. To this end, a strategy committee and working groups have been established, and more are being formed. During the preparatory phase, an initial memorandum was formulated, and two state-of-the-art studies were conducted into market development and technology development in the electricity sector.
