Committees

The committees are made up of market participants, government agencies and interest groups; they are supported by the secretariat of the New Gas Platform. The committees are usually temporary and are dissolved when they achieve their goals. The current committees are:

1. Energy Savings in the Built Environment  
2. Decentralized Energy Generation 
3. Clean Natural Gas
4. Hydrogen
5. Green Gas (in formation)        

The committees are appointed for the various transition paths (whole or in part) or market segments by the Strategy Groups. The committees study the desirability, the potential and the preconditions for scaling up applications in the area of new gas, and help to realize those applications. 

After completing their studies, the committees provide the Strategy Groups with practical information from the market. The Strategy Groups can then mobilize support for the projects proposed by the committees, evaluate proposals that may concern several transition paths, and map out bottlenecks at the relevant ministries that have been identified by the committees.

The activities of committees can involve specific demonstrations, combining separate sources of demand, public acceptance, evaluation studies, consumer panels, recommendations about focused tax measures, and other projects. All interested parties and stakeholders in the Netherlands and abroad will be invited to take part in these activities.
