Dutch approach

Energy Transition aims to attain a sustainable energy supply within 50 years. Through this process, the demand for fossil fuels will decline, while the level of comfort will increase. Renewable resources will dominate and will increase in importance. The emission of wastes will be in balance with what the Earth system can absorb. Energy will be clean, affordable for everyone and available where and when it is needed.

The Netherlands has many opportunities to make the transition to clean, affordable and reliable energy. Our country has vast experience and expertise in energy production, technology, industry and agriculture. Energy Transition draws on this expertise to realize sustainable energy in concrete projects.

By focusing on those aspects of our energy supply where we have expertise, we can take advantage of economic opportunities and improve the competitive position of the Netherlands. And, at the same time, reduce hazardous emissions.
