A new conception of the automated imaging system |
|
Project Type |
Collaborative projects (CP) |
|
Abstract |
The aim of this project is to research new creating conceptions of the tools for simulation and visualization. The paradigm "the general algorithmic space" could be a conception of this variety. Result of the conception implementation can be construction of an universal automated system imaging. The core of system is the generalized parallel-and-recursive algorithm. It uses a common data structure and set of procedures for building visual models. This conception could become the basis for developing new generations of automated systems of simulation and visualization (CAM, CAD, CAV, CAE).

RecycCirc ( Recycling and archiving printed circuit board designs ) |
|
Project Type |
Collaborative projects (CP) |
|
Abstract |
The yearly volume of designing layouts of printed circuits boards is 15 billion Euros in Europe.
New methods, which are required for a service that sells existing printed circuit board designs
to recycle them in the European electronics industry are being developed. The recycling of existing data shortens critical R&D time cycles and saves costs in design SMEs. The circuit board designs themselves are stored in sets of libraries where the circuit design metadata is one part of the library content. At the same time, the design database will be archived with a general purpose technology,
bringing the contents type "general relational database" within the group of content types
that can be semantically archived by SMEs and so preserved.
The envisioned service is able to raise the efficiency remarkably of design work in 10% of this field, in a 1.5 billion Euro sector.
|

Partners sought |
Required skills and Expertise:
ICT methods to develop metadata related tools
basic process know-how in electronics manufacturing
infrastructure experts
basic know-how in CAD and EDA
Description of work to be carried out by the partner(s) sought:
* The Science University would concentrate on Database archiving methodology and user interfaces
* The manufacturer SMEs would be experts in managing pcb designs
* The manufacturer SMEs would prepare their processes to start selling design IPR they own
* The board design SMEs would be experts in file formats and conversions
* The ECM is an alternative for the main shareholder of the net service
* The web service or electronic commerce company is another alternative for the main shareholder
( MiUAS concentrates on administration, general digital archiving methods and user interfaces ) .
Type of partner(s) sought:
* An Electronics Contract Manufacturer ( ECM ) registered to the EU or to an FP7 Partner Country.
* A company with hundreds of electronic devices or modules in their product range.
* SMEs that own a lot of IPR in printed circuit board designs.

* Internet service and electronic commerce companies for the b-2-b market
* A university. Has published PhD dissertations about Digital Archiving or Semantic Libraries after 2002.
A co-operation relationship with a current operational Digital Archiving Service is preferred.

Abstract |
1st Stage
It is an educational interaction project in virtual learning environments, carried out with young people of the formal education system of Uruguay. It is developed within the framework of the opportunities of artistic creation with new mediums on the cultural wealth of three museums of Uruguay: Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts); Museo de Bellas Artes Olarreaga Gallino, (Museum of Fine Arts Olarreaga Gallino), Salto; and Sala-Museo de Arte Prof Arq. Eduardo Gonzlez (Art Room-Museum Prof Arq. Eduardo Gonzlez), Durazno. Said museums are in possession of different works from reference national visual artists.
The starting point shall be a workshop on 3D images in which young participants will create stereotypical images, taking some works from said museums as the center of interest. There will be virtual exchanges and interactions of the 3D images produced, setting a process of reflexive links regarding national and contemporary works of art.
2nd Stage
Then, taking the 3D images produced by the students, there will be several multimedia didactic-interactive products made for the web.
This stage requires the part-taking of specialists in R+D of 3D images.

montevideoMAPPING |
|
Project Type |
Collaborative projects (CP) |
|
Abstract |
The montevideoMAPPING" project aims at enhancing the Cultural penetration of Architecture, awakening the non-specialized public's interest and integrating different disciplines related to the incorporation of messages in the urban space.
The proposal is to intervene with large-scale video techniques in carefully selected buildings that, due to their inherent characteristics and their locations, justify being revalued. At the same time, these buildings may serve as adequate support for exhibitions of documentary, esthetic and technical value.
To these effects, a series of four exhibitions is proposed, with a two or three months gap among each other, using the 3D Video Mapping (3D-VM) technology.
Four building faades yet to be appointed will be chosen. A night multimedia projection of approximately 30 minutes will made on them, and it may be successively repeated as many times as needed.
The projection on the faades shall take into account their geometrical characteristics, so as the projection may play the support in order to display the maximum expressive potential of the 3D-VM technique.

Intelligent system for monitoring and control of city transport motion (TransportNet) |
|
Project Type |
Collaborative projects (CP) |
|
Abstract |
The proposal is addressing FP7 Call 8, challenge 6 ICT for a low carbon economy, objective 6.7 Cooperative Systems for energy efficient and sustainable mobility, target a) Cooperative Systems for low-carbon multi-modal mobility.
Transport industry is one of the most dynamic developing branches of EU economy. New technologies coming to market in the near future will gradually provide new services to citizens and allow improved real-time management of traffic movements and capacity use. Now transport industry & ICT focuses on analysis and design of transportation processes, as well as their optimization, management and decision support. From this point of view development of methods and tools for cooperative networked control of city car totality is very perspective problem. Renunciation of strict regulations of city movement to well-founded robust policy of definition of traffic regulations on the base of real-time control and intelligent management of traffic flows can leads to essential economy and low-carbon environmental advantages.
So development and implementation of new cooperative strategies, uniting in one system transport flows and smart traffic lights and based on the harmonised EU communication architecture and bi-directional vehicle-to infrastructure technologies, are very essential.
The main objective of TransportNet project is to develop advanced technology for improvement of city transport motion. It is based on systematic engineering through:
- implements new cooperative and pro-active traffic and travel management and control strategies- as a basing principle of realization: smart analysis of transport motion on a base of control of moving transport flows and their control by means of smart traffic lights;
- optimizes interaction between vehicle and infrastructure, basing on smart estimation transport system density motion;
- realizes principle smart urban mobility on a base of advanced cooperative network control and optimization techniques, allowing of redirection of transport flows before possible traffic jams.

Utilising the internet and social media to increase citizen participation in renewable energy initiatives |
|
Project Type |
Collaborative projects (CP) |
|
Abstract |
Social media, such as email and text messaging, Facebook, Twitter and many other online and mobile applications are changing the way that people interact and express themselves. In the scientific literature there has been increasing attention for the effects of the internet in general and social media in particular on the way that consumers choose their products, influence each other, communicate with firms and the way that consumers can be studied. The growing use of these new possibilities enables users to connect and collectively create value and influence commercial and public institutions. Social media facilitate the bottom-up creation of social identities, foster the process of social contagion and comparison by allowing peers to share and reduce the individual effort required to take action. |
