EG-Liaison and the European Research area

The European Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development aims at making Europe the world’s most competitive knowledge-based economy. Therefore, the European Commission subsidises highly innovative international research projects with a total budget of 50 billion euros in a period from 2007-2013.

EG-Liaison
EG-Liaison (EGL) is the centre of expertise for the European Framework Programme in the Netherlands. As such it is designated National Contact Point for the Framework Programme. 
The mission of EGL is to enhance participation of Dutch academia, research institutes and companies in the European Framework Programme and related European programmes. 
To achieve this, EG-Liaison supports applicants with information and independent advice, partner search, and training programmes. Note that these pages are only in Dutch.

Our activities
Information and advice
EG-Liaison provides information issued by the European Commission through conferences and information days. Furthermore, EG-Liaison disseminates information through brochures and newsletters. EG-Liaison project advisers support applicants for European programmes at various stages: in an early stage we evaluate whether ideas fit into the programme, if a proposal meets the evaluation criteria, and if it could be further optimised. In later stages we give advice during contract negotiations with the European Commission and during the implementation phase we advise on reporting and eventual dispute. Throughout all stages dedicated legal and financial experts offer additional support.

Finding European partners
EG-Liaison assists in the formation of consortia by matching European partners with complementary skills. Using our website one can submit a profile that will be distributed among the European network of National Contact Points. Alternatively, one can search the existing profile database. 
In addition, for partner search within different themes, please contact the respective project advisors. Finally, the Cordis website offers options for partner search as well.

Training programmes
EG-Liaison organises training events to inform (potential) applicants on all aspects of constructing, submitting and managing projects within the Framework Programme. Trainings include basics of the Framework Programme, project management, juridical and financial, as well as specialized in-house courses.
