Around 70 high level representatives from Member States, European Parliament, EU Commission, industry and other stakeholders in the fields of renewable energy sources gathered on 21 and 22 November 2006 in Amsterdam for the third Sustainable Energy Forum.
The first item on the agenda was a welcome and introduction by Pieter Boot, Deputy Director General of the Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs, which is the host of the Sustainable Energy Forum. The meeting started with an introduction from the chair, Deputy Director General for Energy, Fabrizio Barbaso, on the Strategic Energy Review and the Energy Package that the Commission will be presenting next January.
The discussions centred on upcoming actions from the European Commission to further the use of renewable energy sources in the European Union.
